South Farmingdale Fire District
in the Town of Oyster Bay, County of Nassau, New York
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners, a special election of the qualified voters of the South Farmingdale Fire District in the Town of Oyster Bay, County of Nassau, State of New York, will be held on the 15th day of April, 2025, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., at 819 Main Street, South Farmingdale, NY 11735 to vote on whether to approve the following resolutions adopted by such Board of Fire Commissioners:
Shall the Resolutions of the Board of Fire Commissioners, being:
RESOLUTION NO. 1
Should the fire district establish a:
VEHICLE RESERVE FUND, FOR THE PURCHASE, REPLACEMENT, REPAIR and IMPROVEMENT OF VEHICLES.
RESOLUTION NO. 2
Should the fire district establish a:
EQUIPMENT RESERVE FUND, FOR THE PURCHASE, REPLACEMENT, REPAIR and IMPROVEMENT OF EQUIPMENT.
and duly adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of said Fire District on the 6th day of March, 2025, be approved?
All persons registered to vote in the district and residing in the district for at least thirty (30) days prior to the day of the vote December vote in such special election.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: It is further resolved that upon formation, and after the transfer of funds from the former reserve accounts to the new reserve accounts, the District is: AUTHORIZED TO UTILIZE THE AMOUNT OF UP TO ONE MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE NEWLY CREATED VEHICLE RESERVE FUND TO ASSSIST IN FUNDING THE PURCHASE OF TWO NEW FIRE APPARATUS. Such resolution is subject to permissive referendum. All persons who desire to vote on the above proposition must file a petition in the office of the Secretary no later than 30 days after March 6, 2025.
