The South Farmingdale Fire Department is a community based organization serving the residents of the South Farmingdale Fire District. This all-volunteer department provides fire, rescue and emergency medical services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We seek community minded individuals who are willing to volunteer their time and talent in service to their fellow citizens.

Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age (Unless applying for Junior Membership)
- Have completed high school / GED equivalent
- Possess a valid NYS drivers license that matches current residence address
- Be able to perform physical duties as identified by the Board of Fire Commissioners
- Be able to respond to calls during days, evenings and weekends (work hours permitting)
- Submit to and pass a physical examination conducted by the fire district physician including drug screening
- Submit to random alcohol and drug testing and comply with our zero tolerance, code of conduct, and ethics policies
- Submit to and pass background and criminal screening conducted by the Board of Fire Commissioners through investigative agencies such as Nassau County Fire Marshal, Law Enforcement and NYS DMV
